In the first part of my life I was in healthcare as a nurse, then a nurse midwife and a women's health care nurse practitioner. I had an appointment on the faculty of the medical school as well as a full time private practice. I had expertise in sexual assault and did forensic exams for the county for rape victims as well as serve as an expert witness at trial. My husband was a trauma orthopedic surgeon and we had 3 daughters. Life was good.
Then, in 2001 my own daughter was critically injured in an accident and my world turned upside down and needless to say, my professional career was put on hold. After her years long recovery, I somehow wandered into a real estate career. I did not (and still do not) consider myself any kind of "salesperson". I was skilled in facilitation and advocacy and guidance and I found these skills to be transferable and highly useful in negotiating real estate deals. I am good at assessing people's needs, listening closely and quickly formed deep bonds with people. I was worthy of their trust and confidence and became their "guide" through the real estate process of buying or selling a home. I quickly formed a "team" of real estate agents and pioneered the team model in New York before it was popular.
After 18 years in real estate, I am proud to say that my accomplishments have been formidable. I have sold over 300 properties and have earned the respect and trust of my clients as well as peers. My team (The Levin Team) is a highly regarded model for teams and we offer fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese, Farsi and Spanish.
We service all of Nassau County as well as most of Queens. The heart of my business is centered on the North Shore of Nassau County which services Winthrop/NYU, Northwell North Shore Hospital as well as Northwell/ Long Island Jewish and Cohen Children's Hospital. I am also quite familiar with Suffolk County as we lived in Stony Brook, near the Medical Center, for 20 years. Many physicians who work in NYC choose to live on Long island as well due to great schools, safe neighborhoods and fantastic beaches.
For those of you left wondering, my daughter did recover fully and is now a practicing physician herself.
