Ruby Moore, J.D.

Ruby Moore is a Realtor® with Asheville Realty Group and a licensed North Carolina attorney who brings a distinct combination of legal, business, and negotiation experience to her real estate practice in Western North Carolina. As a physician spouse, her understanding of the pace and pressures of life in medicine began long before she started helping other medical families navigate moves of their own.

Ruby attended the University of Tennessee for college and law school, and she and her husband married just after he graduated from medical school. His training took them from Tennessee to Georgia and then Mississippi for a surgical residency before they ultimately moved to North Carolina. She remembers well trying to find time to travel and look at houses with a new baby in tow, often on her own, while navigating a home purchase, financing, and a move during her husband’s chief residency year. She also experienced the career shifts and setbacks that can come with repeatedly rebuilding a young career in a new city. Understanding that physicians often relocate during demanding career transitions, Ruby strives to provide proactive communication, thoughtful coordination, and a highly personalized experience designed to simplify the process and reduce stress for the entire family.

Both natives of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Ruby and her husband always knew they wanted to come home to build their family, eventually landing in Asheville. They have since raised two daughters and a few dogs, enjoying the active mountain lifestyle and sense of community that brought them back to the area. Over the years, Ruby has come to know Asheville’s neighborhoods, public and private schools, and the distinct character of the surrounding communities. For medical families, she also understands the practical importance of commute times to the office or hospital, particularly when call and surgery schedules require getting there quickly.

Before real estate, Ruby practiced law and later managed corporate partnerships and e-commerce for a local gift company. She brings the same attention to detail, problem solving, and relationship building to her real estate practice today, working closely with clients and partners toward a smooth, successful closing. As a Moving Medicine partner, Ruby helps ease the logistical burden of relocation so medical families can spend their energy settling in and discovering everything that makes Western North Carolina such a special place to live.
